Imprinting

"Suki" doesn't simply mean "I like [you / this / that]". It also has a deeper nuance, the expression of feeling better, being better, in the company of someone wonderful. To "suki" is to be healed, to be improved. It sates, like a nourishing meal -- and so it reasons the inevitable deprivation must follow. You cannot feel better always; you cannot always be in company of wonder.
