1923年(大正12年)に「日刊アサヒグラフ」で連載が始まった『正チャンの冒険』は、少年の正チャンが相棒のリスと共に、時空を超え、宇宙を旅し、あらゆる世界を冒険するファンタジー漫画です。
日本初の日刊連載漫画ともいわれる作品で、その冒険ストーリーは、当時の少年少女の心をわし掴みにしました。
いまでこそよく見る、ニット帽にボンボンがついたあのスタイルは、作品内で正チャンがよくかぶっていたこともあり、「正チャン帽」と呼ばれて大ヒット。
日本で初めてのキャラクター商品にもなり、のちの日本の漫画家へ大きな影響を与えました。
100年たった今でも、エモさを併せ持ちながら新鮮さも感じる本作。
本書は、1923年から1926年に連載された全4コマ漫画を復刻収録。旧仮名遣いを新仮名遣いに改め、すべての年齢の方が楽しめる内容となっております。
