2003年夏、著者の黒咲一人は家財道具を売り払い、
全てをなげうって「リストラ漫画家」として四国のお遍路を自転車で這いずりまわった。
そして、帰京後、縁があって紀行マンガとして描いたのが『55歳の地図』。

それから６年後の2009年夏、還暦を迎えた黒咲は、
東京・有明ターミナルのフェリーに自転車で乗り込もうとしていた。目的地は、もちろん四国!!
やがて、黒咲は『55歳の地図』にも描いた、
一心さんや旅で出会った仲間と再会を果たすのだが…、そこには衝撃の事実が待ち受けていた!!
