猫好きな司は学校の帰宅途中、猫が目の前で車に轢かれるのを見てしまう。
悲しみに暮れ、その猫の死体を土に埋めようとしていたところに、
カツアゲをしようとしていた拓巳に声をかけられ、一緒に埋葬することとなる。
猫を轢いた車種とナンバーを見かけたら教えてほしいと頼まれる。
しかしその後、海から沈没した車が引き上げられる。
その車は、猫を轢き逃げした車と同じだった。

そんな中、路上生活を続ける智、拓巳、和宏。
見えない絆があるような彼等だが、智だけは衝撃の秘密を抱えていた…。
未解決のまま止まっていた5年前の事件の犯人として和宏を連れて行こうとする警察。
その警察から和宏を守ろうと智が精一杯弁護するも次々と論破され――。
隠された和宏の秘密に刑事・田辺が迫る!
