『蟲病』…それは、人間が虫のような醜い化け物に変化する病。人間の心が表面化するというこの病は、感染経路不明、治療法もなく、唯一の解決法は【駆除】。大正時代、華やかな帝都の片隅で、浮浪児たちは家族として肩を寄せ合い懸命に生きていた。リーダーは13歳の少女・小春。希望を捨てずに生きる彼らにも、蟲病の脅威が襲い掛かる。発熱した弟を連れ、助けを求めるも、浮浪児に町人は冷酷な駆除を迫る。からがらに逃げ延び帰宅すると、弟達はすでに蟲化していた。そしてその変化は小春自身にも―…。小春の前に現れたのは駆除人の大男・ザムザ。生きたままに捕らえられた小春は、弟達と生き延びることを目的にザムザに駆け引きを挑む。蟲病とは何か、ザムザの真の目的は―!?
