Characters

Shun'en

The daughter of a tribal chief of an foreign merchants who rose to prominence through commerce.
In exchange for the safety of her exiled and misfortunate people, she was to marry a man whose face and name she did not know, but it turned her husband to be was Tairan, whom she used to play with when they were children.
Taken to the capital she was made the crown princess and is now of high status.
She is devoted to "learning," which she is very fond of.

She has a determined and unyielding personality, has always viewed Tairan as if he were a younger brother. (Even though she has been curious of him, and attracted to him as the opposite sex.)
Tairan

The son of an Emperor who rules over a large empire in the south. Is currently called the crown prince.
When younger he was sickly, and to keep him away from political strife for his own health, Tairan was sent away from the capital. That is when he met Shun'en. It was love at first sight, but due to his own selfish actions, Shun'en's tribe ends up being exiled, and the two are separated.
After returning to the capital and becoming an adult, he uses a somewhat forcible means to reunite with Shun'en.

While he has emotions like anyone else, they no longer show as prominently in his facial expressions.
Is a little older than Shun'en.
