Humans and fox spirits coexist in Kitsune-morimura.
Revered among both humans and spirits is the Skyfox, a god that protects them all.
The voice of the Skyfox is heard only by the Connector, who conveys the wisdom to the town.
But true power over Kitsune-morimura is owned by the Kanzaki family,
foxes in human form. The Connector is nothing more than a figurehead.

Miduki is a fifth generation Connector in her 2nd year of high school.
She and her "bodyguard" Aki Kamijo have lived uneventful lives.

Yet, she keeps having a perplexing dream. Red, crimson red. A harbinger of change.

"I have to know what it means."

Peaceful days fall like trees violently cracking in a calm forest.
