大学に通い、書店でアルバイトをしながらも、密かに悪魔教を学んでいる青年、城岡裕弥。彼はとある書物で、悪魔を召還する方法を見つける。
深夜、魔法陣を描いて召還の儀式を行う。魔法陣が光り、ついに悪魔召還か!?……と思いきや、召還されたのは、一匹の白猫だった。
召還が失敗したことに嘆く裕弥。すると召還した猫が話しかけてくる。猫は人間の女の子の姿となる。彼女は名をニーコと名乗り、悪魔には及ばないものの、高位の使い魔だという。
ニーコは元の世界に帰ろうとするが帰ることが出来ない。魔力の流が切断されてしまっていて、魔界との繋がりがなくなってしまっている様子だ。
俺には関係ないと追い出そうとする裕弥だが、ニーコは潤んだ瞳で「捨てないで」と懇願してくる。その姿に惹かれた裕弥は住むことをOKし、ニーコと同居することになった。
