This is the story of how you, a no-good, no-job nobody, may be the future's only hope...

They called it X Day.
That was the day that a virus called "DeDe" suddenly ravaged the world's population.
But was the virus natural, or was it man-made? Nobody was sure...

Those infected with DeDe look the same and even a blood test won't detect any anomalies.
Silently, secretly, the virus wormed its way throughout humanity.

By the time people learned about the disease, 10% of the world's population was already infected. In other words, it was already too late. To control the chaos, each nation begins work on developing a vaccine, but nobody knows exactly how long it will take.

Although the world's governments tried to keep the virus' very existence a secret, nothing can be hidden from the internet... and that's where the infected gain a new name -- "DeDe".

The virus displays the following characteristics:
- Infected people appear normal, but exhibit c*nnibalistic behaviors
- When engaging in these behaviors, the infected become more resilient and better able to digest food.
- The infected are unable to smell or taste normal food, and cannot experience "fullness".
- Ferocity, appetite, and form differ depending on age, sex, and build.
- The source of the infection is unclear. It may spread through the air or blood, but nothing is clear.

Many of the infected established their own communities, fooling their deranged stomachs with the flesh of cows and pigs, but eventually leaders from these communities began to emerge. They worked to secure meat for the infected in secret, and soon a pharmaceutical company, "Z-CITY" emerged. Its main product was a supplement called "Core" that was made with real human flesh and would allow the infected DeDes to quell their hunger. Once DeDes became big business, things started to change... but the world wasn't thrown into chaos., Rather, rumors began to spread online, like something of an urban legend...

It was then that one man appeared, a man knowns as Dr. Nakamatsu.
Hailed since childhood as a genius to rival all others, the loss of his dog in a car accident when he was very young spurred Dr. Nakamatsu to go into the field of cellular regeneration and begin research into cloning. He spent his college years researching planaria, and his adult life was spent immersed in cloning research that cast serious doubt on his ethics and even his own sanity. Eventually, he was barred from the medical community entirely.

However, he then shut himself in his home, continuing his experiments in secret. And one day, he finally did it; he created the perfect drug for cellular regeneration. It was called "FAT-X" And Dr. Nakamatsu waited patiently for his chance to test it...

Subsequently, a 78 year old woman named Wako made a tweet from her home in the country...

"I can taste my food again."

A simple tweet, essentially unnoticed by anyone. But the doctor saw it, and rushed to the scene in hopes of finding out what happened.

Case Details:
- Subject Wako (78), in the course of working her part-time job at a convenience store, was overcome by the c*nnibalistic urge typical of those afflicted with DeDe, and took a bite of a young shopper's neck. After this incident, the shopper fled and the subject was able to enjoy burdock normally.

"Could it be that this rumored antibody exists only in the body of this young man...?"

Dr. Nakamatsu hurried to find the young man, and was surprised to discover his true identity... a 3-years-unemployed nobody who lived alone and spent all his time playing games and eating delivery food.

This dork was the culmination of everything the doctor had been working toward, a walking vaccine. If he could just research the man's undying body, the world could be saved! Having the DeDes eat this man was the only way to save humanity!

Will offering up his own body be enough to make this young man into a true hero...?
