Ever played reversi?
You know, the game where you have two players - one who uses the dark side of the piece and one who uses the light side of the piece, and the winner is the person who has the most pieces of their color on the board at the end.
This game has one very interesting rule.

If you cannot place a piece, you may pass your turn, but you can't just pass whenever you like.
No matter how much you don't want to play a piece, if there is somewhere to place it, you must.
These are the rules.

In other words...
If you control the board well, you can control where your opponent must place their pieces.
