but the cliques of a school could be cruel. "She's making fun of us by not wearing it!"
Style was not an individual's choice, it was conformity of the masses, from
face to outfit to lifestyle. Hers was not the same as the rest so she couldn't be friends.
She couldn't be friends, so what. She would be be a pariah, living alone.
But that wasn't enough, the bullying was like a hobby for the girls. They wouldn't
let her just be on her own. They targeted her and humiliated her.
